Tear trough filler

The tear trough (nasojugal groove) is a defined anatomical region beneath the eye that can be affected by age related volume loss, fat pad descent, or congenital hollowing. In some individuals, this results in a deepening of the groove, which may alter the appearance of the lower eyelid cheek junction and contribute to facial asymmetry or disproportion.

Volume loss in this area may also create shadows that can give the impression of discolouration or under eye hollowness. Where clinically appropriate, dermal filler may be used to restore soft tissue volume, improve contour, and reestablish support in the infraorbital region. Treatment is delivered following medical consultation and may be offered as part of a broader care plan to address structural deficits or tissue degeneration.

WHAT PROBLEMS DOES TEAR TROUGH FILLER ADDRESS?

To address volume depletion in the tear trough region, dermal filler may be administered to restore soft tissue support beneath the eyes. This area is often affected by age related fat pad descent, congenital hollowing, or post-surgical volume loss, leading to a visible groove and shadowing beneath the lower eyelid.

By carefully placing filler at the appropriate anatomical depth, the treatment can help restore continuity between the lower eyelid and mid-face, reduce infraorbital hollowing, and diminish the appearance of volume related shadowing. This intervention may be clinically appropriate where structural changes contribute to facial imbalance or psychosocial impact.

HOW DOES TEAR TROUGH TREATMENT WORK?

Tear trough filler is a minimally invasive, non-surgical treatment used to address volume loss in the infraorbital region. This area may be affected by congenital hollowing, age-related fat descent, or soft tissue thinning, which can lead to deepened grooves, shadowing, and structural imbalance between the lower eyelid and mid-face.

Dermal fillers may be used to restore volume and improve tissue support, thereby reducing shadowing caused by infraorbital hollowing. The treatment is typically well-tolerated, involves minimal downtime, and may be considered appropriate where under eye volume loss contributes to functional asymmetry or psychosocial distress.

FAQ - TEAR TROUGH LONDON

You will start seeing the results instantly, but you may also have some mild swelling. This will settle in the following days after treatment.

Most of the time, under eye filler usually lasts around 8-12 months. It’s common for patients to have this procedure once per year to maintain their results and look their best.

At JB Aesthetics, safety is my number one priority. I would never perform a procedure if it wasn’t safe, and dermal fillers around the eyes are no exception. This is an extremely safe procedure when undertaken by a trained professional.

In some rare cases, people don’t like the way they look with fillers. That’s why I only use dissolvable fillers. In the unlikely event you would like the procedure reversed, I can dissolve the product with a specialised solution.
